Shmoo are two brothers David and Neil Newport who write and perform their unique take on electronic music.Their vocal melodies have a hint of Muse/The Killers with a punkier edge and this is combined with their trade mark vocoder sound (think Beasty Boys "Intergalactic").They pile up layers of dirty analog beats with thrashing drums alongside deliciously retro synths (think Air's Moon Sarfi), soaring arpeggiators and hard hitting bass lines.

The boys built a studio in the attic of their flat in South Manchester and surrounded themselves with old keyboards, samplers etc with the view to take it out on the road live without a laptop in sight. Accompanied by a drummer playing on a hybrid electronic/acousitc drum kit the brothers both perform their high energy set behind vintage Moog synthesizers which belongs on the dance floor and indie clubs alike.

Likened to a Kraftwork versus MGMT mash-up, Shmoo are "a band Kasabian could never dream of becoming" (as quoted by City Life).
